‘Notre maison brûle, et nous regardons ailleurs’ Jacques Chirac 2002.
Dragon’s teeth
The fruit has withered on the tree
or rotting lies on parched bare ground,
and in this bowl of fire, only the rose
raises its lovely head and cruel claws,
talonning the curved and burning sky.
There are only ashes in this mouth,
this earth, home, inheritance, beloved,
dust returned to the mother stars.

This is absolutely gorgeous!
I really enjoyed reading this. Great imagery. Powerful. Thank you!
